It's Here!

Guess what arrived...

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I've owned a hand crank mill for several years now. Even though I have had almost no wheat stored. That one would be great if we ever were to be without electricity. But, I think this one will be perfect for my everyday use! It is much bigger than I expected it to be, but it still fits where I planned on storing it. Is it weird to be excited about grinding flour? I just need my wheat shipment to arrive!

  1. That's the same mill I have! I've used it a handful of times - I really like it.

  2. You will have to let me know how it works. Mine is so loud it sounds like a chainsaw and it blows flour dust everywhere so we have to use it outside. I would love something quieter.

  3. Hooray! I just got one earlier this year and I love it. It's so fun to grind my own flour, and to experiment with different grains.

  4. Amy, it is a Nutrimill and I got it from Emergency Essentials. They are having a sale on them right now.

  6. How fun! I got the same mill a few months ago and it is great. I am debating whether to hang on to my old stone grinder or not.

  7. Okay, I tried it. It works great! It took about 10 min to mill about 20 cups of flour and was about as loud as our ice cream mixer. The flour was great, too. Much finer and lighter than the stuff I had been buying. (Maybe because I was grinding white wheat instead of red, though?)
