The Columbine Fairy Song
Who shall the chosen fairy be
For letter C?
There's Candytuft, and Cornflower blue,
Campanula and Crocus too,
Chrysanthemum so bold and fine,
And pretty dancing Columbine.
Yes, Columbine! The choice is she;
And with her, see,
An elf in piper, piping sweet
A little tune for those light feet
That dance among the leaves and flowers
In someone's garden.
(Is it ours?)
Yes, it is!
I just planted a columbine. No garden is complete without one. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers! I'll have to get me some....
ReplyDeleteDid you know that Columbine was Grandpa "S's" favorite flower? My dad has mentioned it a few times to me.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen Columbine in such a dark purple. Beautiful! :)
Very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThey are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I miss about having a change of seasons living here in Az, is the excitement you feel as spring/summer arrives and having the flowers come back to life.
Our columbines are blooming right now too. We have nothing the color of yours though. D would love that color. My favorite here is a red with yellow middle. They are such a beautiful flower.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! I so need to plant...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Nettie!
ReplyDeleteA wee bit jealous of that lovely garden... :)
